John Rasberry, M.Ed.,LMFT, TEP. President

John has served on the Executive Council of the ASGPP since 2000. He has served as Chair of the Awards Committee , Chair of the Publications Committee and was President-Elect from 2005-2007. He is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of Mississippi. John is a Teacher, Educator and Practitioner (TEP) in Psychodrama and Sociometry. As the Founder and Director of The Mid-South Center for Psychodrama and Sociometry , Tupelo, Ms. , he directs both clinical and training programs.

Sue Barnum, MA, CGP, TEP Secretary

A  psychotherapist, psychodramatist and Bibliodramatist in private practice in Houston, Texas. She has been a popular presenter of a variety of subjects over  the years, including the integration of the psychological and spiritual, the developmental process as pertains to spirituality and faith, sexuality and intimacy,  and the uses of psychodrama in various venues (including education, spiritual  study, law). She and her colleague Evie Lotze trained a group of psychologists and psychiatrists in Moscow to European psychodrama certification standards  (1993-1997) and she is currently involved in exploring the use of the method  in the criminal justice system. She is a fellow of the ASGPP, has served on the Board of her local group therapy society for many years, and continues to serve on the Board of Diverse Works, an arts organization in Houston.

Eduardo Garcia, ASGPP  Executive Director

Eduardo  is a consultant with specialties in non-profit management and facilitating board  and staff retreats as well as issue-specific meetings for non-profit groups  and corporations. In addition to serving as the Executive Director of the ASGPP, his clients include foundations, corporations and non-profit organizations throughout  the Northeast. He has served as the Manager of the Arts Challenge Fund a collaboration of private and corporate foundations serving New Jersey; the Executive Director of the Newark Arts Council and the Executive Director of the Legislatively-created  New Jersey Literacy in the Arts Task Force. He worked as the Mid-Atlantic Regional Representative for the National Endowment for the Arts and as the Executive  Director of the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance. Eduardo served as a  member of Carnegie Hall’s Education Advisory Council and the Kennedy Center  / Getty Center Arts Education Partnership Working Group. He was recently appointed to the Board of Trustees of the Princess Grace Foundation and has served on  the Foundation's Arts Advisory Board since its inception. He has conducted workshops  and seminars on various non-profit issues throughout the United States and in Australia. Eduardo is also a playwright produced throughout the US and in England including a recent production Off-Off Broadway. His MFA is from Catholic University in Washington, DC.

Members of the Executive Council

 

Staci Block, MSW, LCSW (New  Jersey)

Staci  Block , is the creator and director of Reflections, a teen improvisational theatre  group that addresses adolescent issues. This program started in 1990 and runs out of the Bergen County, New Jersey, Division of Family Guidance. She is also the director of Creative Interventions, doing consulting, training, workshops and performances on a wide variety of topics via the use of action methods and improvisational theatre. Staci has worked extensively with peer leaders, community groups, teachers, parents, youth of all ages and the adolescent substance abuse  population. She provides technical assistance on the development of "interactive theatre on social issues." In addition, since 1987, Staci has been an adjunct professor, teaching social work classes, at William Paterson University. For  the Rutgers School of Social Work, Continuing Education and Professional Development  Program she is on their Advisory Board for the Arts in Prevention Certificate Program. In her "spare time" Staci performs in musicals, comedies and dramas and has done a one-woman cabaret show in NYC and is currently working  on her next one. "Being involved with the ASGPP has afforded me the  wonderful opportunity to connect with talented, creative professionals who have  enhanced my life and the work that I do."

Linda Condon

LindaC Linda is a licensed mental health counselor and certified psychodramatist in the ‘sunny’ state of Florida. She has served as co-president of the Florida West Coast Collective of ASGPP and also on the 2005 Miami conference committee.  Linda works in a secondary school as well as developing a private practice and is particularly interested in utilizing action techniques to promote spiritual growth and recovery from PTSD and addictions.  She authored “The Warm-Up Ring: Keys to Energizing Your Group."

 

 

Suzie Jary, LCSW

Suzie  works in a broad range of settings from addiction to career development and  uses sociometry and psychodrama methods in all of them. She has a private practice and consults in New York City with Freedom Institute, an outpatient chemical  dependency clinic, Sexual Addiction Treatment and Training Institute (SATTI),  Met Council Career Center and Career Transition For Dancers, (CTFD). Suzie travels throughout the U.S. meeting with major dance companies and uses sociometry in  her workshops with the dancers. A former Broadway dancer, she has over 12 years  in the career counseling field working with artists and has spoken internationally  on the subject. At Met Council Career Center she works with clients from diverse  backgrounds and in particular, domestic violence survivors and immigrants from all over the world. A licensed clinical social worker, she obtained her Certified Practitioner of psychodrama credential in March 2005 and joined the Executive  Council in April 2005.

David Moran, LCSW, Certified Alcoholism Counselor, Certified Co-Occurring Disorders Professional-Dual-Diagnosed, EMDR-II DavidMsm

David is currently the Director of Crozer Chester’s Recovery Center in Chester PA, has a private practice at Catharsis Psychodrama Institute in Havertown PA. He has 13 years experience in the behavioral health field working with adults and adolescents, and began serving on the ASGPP Executive Council in 2006. He has presented at the Pennsylvania chapter of the National Association of Social Work 2006 conference, the Pennsylvania Addictions Certification Board, and the Widener University Alumni. Delaware County County Office of Services for the Aging conference in 2005.

 

Richard  W.Paschke

Rich was born and lived his first 40 years in the greater metropolitan NYC area before  moving to upstate NY ( Utica). He worked as a Psychologist II in a forensic  mental hospital for 17 years as he went through psychodrama training at Beacon with Zerka and other fine trainers (1978 - 1981). He has an M.A. from New School  for Social Research and has TEP certification. He developed a psychodrama therapy program and psychodrama mental health training at the hospital and presented  training in the community during his 19-year tenure in upstate NY. Rich also worked as a parole officer and as a drug rehabilitation therapist, supervisor and administrator earlier in his career. In the 1980s Rich was on the executive council and returned to the council in 2003. He is on the Membership Committee where he now serves as the Chapter Liaison and on the Finance Committee to help  develop a planned giving program. Rich now lives in Port Charlotte, Florida  with his wife Deborah and his 14 yr. old niece Michelle. All members are  invited to share their questions, concerns or ideas with me about psychodrama or the ASGPP. Your input is what is going to make our organization flourish.

Michael  Traynor, LCSW, CGP, CP, PAT (Albany, NY)

Michael  is a social worker and psychodramatist, and has facilitated action based groups in an intensive outpatient program for adolescents and adults. He also has an extensive background in working in addictions treatment. He presently maintains a private practice, conducting weekly psychodrama groups. Michael is interested  in contributing to the ongoing well being of the psychodrama community and fostering  membership growth among young adults.
